We've been hard at work upgrading and improving OnCourse Connect for continued reliability and to work better with modern browsers. Also, the new version complies with WCAG 2.1 national accessibility standards. It includes accessibility features for students who need them.
Don't worry, all the functionality you've come to rely on is still here, we've just updated the look, feel, and accessibility. The new version will be released on July 5, 2022
Let's take a peek at the new interface!
We’ve moved all navigation options to the navigation sidebar. Selecting an option takes the user to the page containing the corresponding data.
If your district uses OnCourse Classroom, there will be a CLASSROOM option on the navigation sidebar. Here users will see all of the student's classes. Clicking on a class shows the Assignments, Resources, Messages, and Archived for the selected class.
If your district does not use OnCourse Classroom, there will be a CLASS LIST option on the navigation sidebar. Here users will see all of the student's classes.
Clicking on a class takes the user to the GRADE HISTORY tab (formerly the ACADEMIC HISTORY tab) where they will see a listing of the assignments, quizzes, tests, and comments for the selected class.
Settings are located under the SETTINGS option on the navigation sidebar. Here users are given four options to choose from:
General: Guardians can see their username and email address. And with proper permissions, they can update their password.
Display: Guardians can choose the display mode, choosing a dark or light view. They can also display or not display an avatar photo.
Notifications: This is where guardians can set their notification preferences.
Classroom: This is where guardians can give or take away permission for their children to use OnCourse Classroom
