The Letters application enables districts to generate discipline and attendance letters that can be sent to guardians. These letters are automatically generated based on rules set by your school or district. Within the Letters application, there is an Active Letters tab and a Sent Letters tab.
Before, there were two ways to remove letters from the Active Letters tab:
1. Print or email the letter, which permanently moves it from Active Letters to Sent Letters.
2. Delete the letter, which temporarily removes it from the Letters application altogether. However, if the deleted letter is still subject to the automation rules, it will be regenerated the next time the rules are run and the letter will populate again in Active Letters. Some districts were deleting letters not realizing that they would be regenerated the following day.
To address this issue, we've created a third way to remove letters: Mark as Sent, which allows you to permanently move letters from Active Letters to Sent Letters without having to print or email them.
