Currently, when the Annual Registration form is activated in a district, both guardians AND students are blocked from using OnCourse Connect until the registration form is completed.
This has become an issue for some districts, as they don't want their students to be blocked from using the portal. To address this concern, OnCourse has created a setting providing students access to OnCourse Connect even if their parent hasn't submitted the Annual Registration form.
If you would like to turn on this feature for your district, please contact OnCourse Support and we'll get you set up right away.
Once the setting is activated by OnCourse, this is how it works:
1. The Annual Registration form is activated
2. Activating the Annual Registration form automatically checks off the Annual Registration Required field in all student profiles. This field is located in the Miscellaneous sub-tab within the General tab.
3. If the new setting, "Allow students to bypass annual registration screen" is turned on, students will be able to access OnCourse Connect even if their parent hasn't submitted the Annual Registration form. If the new setting is turned off, students will not be able to access OnCourse Connect until their parent has submitted the Annual Registration form.
