The Survey Manager provides districts with a tool to communicate with parents and students and get their feedback, keeping them informed on district updates, notices, and events.
Resource
In order for users to see the Survey Tool in the System Manager, they need to be added to the OnCourse Connect Survey Builder resource group. To access it, navigate to the Resource Manager and select the Resource tab. The OnCourse Connect Survey Builder resource is located in the OnCourse Connect section.
Access
To access the Survey Tool, navigate to the System Manager, expand District, OnCourse Connect Settings, and select Survey Manager.
Create a New Survey
Add New Survey
To add a new survey, click the Add Survey button. In the new window, give the survey a name and enter the survey start and end date. Next, decide to whom the survey will be sent. You can send it to Students or Guardians. Check the Just Acknowledge box if you want users to simply acknowledge that they've seen the survey posting. Leave this box unchecked and users will be able to answer yes or no for each student to which they are linked. And finally, include the survey message. When you're finished, click Save.
Add Recipients
After the message is created, it's time to add recipients. To do this, select the survey,
and click the Add Recipients button. In the new window, choose a school,
and a grade level. Next, choose the students or the guardians of the students to which you want the survey sent. When you're finished, clicked Save then Close.
Student/Parent View
When parents or students log into OnCourse Connect they will see the survey message that was created. If it is a Acknowledgement survey, users will simply click OK, acknowledging that they've read the message. If it's a Yes or No survey, users will answer Yes or No for each student to which they are linked.
Analytics
Later as surveys are acknowledged and answered, administrators are able to track responses. To do this, select a survey. On the right you will see the name of the student being signed for and the student's grade level. The Value column indicates the answer given by the survey taker.
If users are simply acknowledging that they've read the survey, the system will register a Yes value. If users are answering Yes or No, the system will register a Yes or No value. The value for unanswered surveys is N/A.
The last two columns show the name of the person who took the survey as well as the date and time it was taken.
You also have the option of exporting the data to Excel.
