This guide serves as an introduction to SGOs for teachers. The following guide will take you through all of the steps to create, submit and implement your SGO. At the completion of the SGO process you will receive your SGO score.

Access Student Growth
- Select My Evaluations from the Evaluate dropdown menu.

- Select the Student Growth Objectives tab

Add an SGO
Add from Library
- Select the Add from Library button. (The library contains all previously completed SGOs; My SGO's and District SGO's).
- Select an SGO to view in the Preview Screen
- Click Add to use the SGO from the library.
Add from Scratch
- Select the Add button.
- Fill out the fields in the new General information window.
- When you're finished, click Add.

SGO Sections
You will be taken into the SGO form which include seven sections. The first section, General, houses the information added in Step 3. Subsequent steps will discuss the remaining sections and features within the SGO form.

Assessment Section
This section includes assessment data.
- Assessment Name
- Description
*Can upload documents. The log will show who uploaded the document and when.

Related Document
Upload documents associated with the SGO.
- Select Add Assessment Document.
- Choose Upload from Hard drive or Add from My Documents
- Click Add File(s)
- Select the file from your computer to upload.
- Click Upload File
- Your file will now appear in your SGO

Rationale and Baseline Section
This section includes skills to be worked on and data to be used as a foundation.
- SGO Rationale and Baseline Data
*Test boxes grow as information is entered
*Can add standards like in LP, can link strands and higher levels. Will display text, key code, poster and date posted

Related Standards
This section allows you to link standards related to the SGO.
Linking Standards
- Click Add Standard
- Choose from the standards shown in the top tabs, and select the content area.
- Narrow the search by selecting the Grade Level
- Click the green plus icon to link the standard.
- The linked standard will appear in the SGO section, "Related Standards".
- Click the red X icon to remove the standard.
Searching for Standards
- Search by keyword or number
- Click Search
- Type keyword or number
- Search results will display for you to link.
- Clear Search button to return to full list.

Student Growth Objective Section
The Student Growth Objective is written in this section.

Scoring Plans and Results Section
Adding a Student Group
In this section you will add all of your student groups.
- Click Add Student Group
- Group Name - "All" or the name of the group (High, Medium, Low)
- # of students in the group
- Group Target Score - Score that equates mastery of this SGO for this group of students
- Manual Weight % (optional) - Student groups are automatically weighted based upon the number of students in each group. You can manually override this by setting a specific weight for each group here. (This must be predetermined and activated by the district.)
- Description (optional)
- Targeted Number of Students per Attainment Level - This will auto-calculate, be set by the district preference, or be manually set by the teacher depending on the districts setup.
- Click Save

Scoring Plans and Results Section
Adding a Single Student
Adding a single student works a little differently than groups containing two or more students. When entering the number one in the Number of Students in Group section the Target Score Per Attainment Level slide bars disappear and are replaced with open text boxes. Here you can manually add attainment levels for a single student.

Student Groups
- Builds automatically as student groups are added
- Weights - Weighted based on number of students based on each group (settings exist to allow weights to be overridden)
- Can also add documents (spreadsheets of students per group, additional materials)
- Adding Score Results will happen at a later stage.

Approval History Section
This is a record of SGO activity between you and your administrators

Conference Dates Section
If an initial, mid-year, or end-of-year conference is scheduled you will see it here.

Submit Your SGO (top of screen)
Once your SGO is completed, submit it to your administration. You can add any relevant notes after clicking submit.

Submission and Review
Once your administrator reviews your SGO, they may accept it, or ask you to make alterations. If you must edit your SGO, please follow the steps above and re-submit.

Periodic Reviews: Mid-Year Review
Once your SGO has been approved, it will be active for the year. You will revisit your SGO with your administrator half-way into the year, and at the end of the year.
Mid-Year Review
- Depending on the district setup administrators or teachers can make changes to an SGO during a mid-year review.
- Notes can be added to the mid-year confirmation and the Approval History is updated

Periodic Reviews: End of Year Review
End of Year
- "Score Results" under "Scoring Plans and Results" can be filled out by the teacher or admin depending on district setup.
- "Students at Target" - "Attainment" is calculated automatically.
- The calculated SGO score is automatic, the final SGO score can be re-entered as a manual confirmation.

- Export to PDF
- Open SGO Log - this log will track any changes made to your SGO, by whom, and date.
