After creating and editing and IEP, you will be ready to implement the IEP. This guide will show you the steps to lock and implement the student IEP, as well as, maintaining IEP updates.
1. Locking an IEP
An IEP must be Locked in order to be implemented.
• Open the draft student IEP.
• Click on Lock IEP.
2. Unlocking an IEP
There may be the need to Lock an IEP to prevent anyone from working within sections for a time period. The IEP can then be Unlocked to allow further editing.
Note: The IEP cannot be Implemented unless it is locked.
3. Implementing an IEP
• The IEP must be locked.
• Click Implement IEP
• Enter IEP Begin Date
• Enter IEP End Date
• Save
Note: Once and IEP has been implemented it cannot be Unlocked.
4. IEP Updates
Now that the student's IEP is implemented, his/her data must be changed to reflect the changes outlined in the IEP. These updates may be related to the student's eligibility, enrollment, program type, etc.
It's crucial to make these changes in order to keep the overall student register and state reporting current. OnCourse will automatically post an alert notification to the person responsible for implementing the updates. This person is typically responsible for data entry or NJSMART Reporting.

5. Completing IEP Updates
• Double click the row to open the student record.
• Locate the information to update.
• Save Details
