This document will provide an overview of all of the resources (permissions) available to grant to users in OnCourse Special Education.
1. IEP Data Updates View
What? – allows a user to view the IEP Data Updates tab
Who? – user(s) responsible for student record keeping, enrollment, and NJ SMART reporting; usually a school or child study team secretary
2. IEP Data Updates Write
What? – allows a user to delete notifications in the IEP Data Updates tab
Who? – user(s) responsible for validating student record updates; usually a school administrator, child study team director, or person responsible for information management and reporting
3. IEP People Tab Preview IEP Override
What? - allows editing of IEP from People tab. User must have proper access in order to actually edit IEP
Who? - high level user, typically CST director or person in charge of managing special education information and documents
4. IEP Post Lock Editing
What? – allows a user to edit a section in a locked IEP
Who? – usually a child study team director,senior child study team member, or person with oversight responsibilities for the IEP writing process
5. Manage IEP Check In/Out Management
What? – gives a user access to the IEP Check In/Out application
Who? – user(s) responsible for managing and delegating IEP writing responsibilities; usually a child study team director or senior child study team member
6. Special Education Application Access
What? – gives a user access to the SE application
Who? – user(s) that manage and work with special education students; usually child study team members and special education teachers
7. Special Education District Wide Global Case Access
What? – gives a user access to all students in distric
Who? – user(s) that require access to all special education students in a district; usually a district administrator, a child study team director, or a child study team member with responsibilities in multiple schools
8. Special Education IEP Listing Tab Access
What? – gives a user access to the IEP Listing tab
Who? – user(s) that work only with students’ IEPs; usually general education teachers
9. Special Education Manage Global Lists
What? – allows a user to manage global lists in SE application
Who? – user(s) that manage the IEP writing process and will maintain lists for IEP application sections; usually a child study team director, a senior child study team member, or a person
with oversight responsibilities for the IEP writing process
10. Special Education School Wide Global Case Advanced
What? – gives a user access to the student record IEP and Special Education tabs for all students in a school
Who? – user(s) that require access to all special education students in a school; usually a child study team director (if they already do not have district global access) or school child study
team members
11. Special Education School Wide Global Case Basic
What? – gives a user access to the IEP tab for all students in a school
Who? – user(s) that work only with students’ IEPs; usually general education teachers; should be used with the Special Education IEP Listing Tab Access resource
12. Special Education Setup
What? – gives a user access to the Special Education Setup tab
Who? – user(s) responsible for the administration of the Special Education application; usually a child study team director or district technology manager
13. SPED_BLANK_LISTING
What? – displays a blank case manager listing when first opening the dashboard
Who? – user(s) with access to a large number of students on the special education dashboard; this is recommended for users with global access in districts with a large special education
population
14. Unlimited Letter/Form Access
What? – allows a user to modify a SE form/letter after it has been marked sent
Who? – usually a child study team director or senior child study team member
15. Student IEP Non-Team Member Access
This option must be set by OnCourse Support. This allows non-team members to access student IEPs through the IEP Listing tab. This option is useful if your school needs general education teachers to update Goals and Objectives and PLAAFPs.
