This guide will walk SE Setup users through the process of creating custom Goals and Objectives in the Special Education application.
1. Navigate to Goal Bank
Start by clicking on your Setup tab, then select the Goals and Objectives from the left-hand toolbar. You will see the folder labeled "Goal Banks" at the bottom of the folder list.
2. Add Bank
Expand the "Goal Banks" folder.
Click the green (+) button in order to add a new set of goals.
Give your bank a name and click "Save".
3. Add Grade Levels
Click the green (+) button to begin adding the grade levels for which these goals will be applicable. You will also include the sort order for each grade. We recommend beginning with sort order values in multiples of 10 (10, 20, 30, etc.) It will allow you to more easily add additional grade values if necessary in the future.
**NOTE: In the case of goals that are not grade-specific, you can
create an "All Grades"
4. Add Subject Areas
Click the green (+) button to begin adding subject areas. You will have to give each area a name and decide whether to make it active immediately, or wait and activate it later.
5. Add Categories
For each grade, you will need to create categories within each subject area.
Click the green (+) button, give each category a name and select whether or not it will be immediately active.
6. Add Goals
You can create multiple goals within each category. This can help narrow the focus for a student's academic or personal growth.
Click the green (+) button, give the goal a name and save.
7. Add Objectives
Objectives are created within each goal and are the specific measurement of progress towards completing each goal. Click the green (+) button, give each objective a name and select whether or not it will be immediately active.
8. Goal Bank Created!
You have now successfully created a custom goal bank. If you need any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact OnCourse support.
